First chance to work with Matthew Turley and WOW! what a great guy and really talented photographer.
This project was particularly interesting as Jamie from mcgarry called me the first week in September and basically said ” Hey, we need to find great locations in the mountains of Texas or Utah, can you scout for us next week?” with a couple of days notice I took off and returned with some great locations in both Utah and Texas, but the Guadalupe Mountains in Texas were amazing.
We returned in late November with Matthew and spent a couple of days with talent on the side of a mountain shooting killer images.
Another great opportunity to pull together a fun shoot for Richard Schultz. It has been years since I worked with Richard Cardinali over at JWT as well, so it gave us the opportunity to catch up on stuff. Fun chatting about old stories back in the day. Kelly Ramsey the AB with us was also a pleasure to meet and work with.
As always R. Schultz came away with some really great images.
It was one of those projects that only a local with unbelievable contacts and resources could have pulled off. It’s no wonder David Katzenstein came to Planet PrePro to produce 3 days of shooting in 12 different locations with 35+ talent.
We had our LA office managing all the scheduling details, while all the rest of our team was being managed by Mick. Shoot went great, happy client and nothing was unexpected. I haddn’t worked with Jean Wolff in some time, and it was great to reconnect. Saije Bashaw was the AB on most of the project and our team really loved working with her.
Bruno Corbo was the CD and was a joy to be around, he brought great humor to the set every day. Thanks man.
OK, this was crazy. It sort of went this way;
Schultz: What are you doing in August.
PPP: Working, what else? Why? Got something good?
Schultz: Yeah, around the world in 13 days. You up for it? Going to be crazy, and it needs to be all pulled together fast.
PPP: Yeah, I am in. When do we leave? ……..
So 4 of us take off to circle the globe.
Richard Schultz, Alex Wilbanks (the client from Godfrey Q & Partners out of San Francisco), Sheffield Reynolds (digital tech / assistant), and myself meet up in Dublin.
This is the Short version:
Travel to Dublin, Eat-Drink & Shoot.
Travel to Mumbai, India via Frankfort – arrive at 1 AM (I have the guys from the Four Seasons pick us up and we have cold beers in the pool on the rooftop at 2 AM). Travel to Pune the next day (4 hrs) and shoot. Then in a complete monsoon, drive back to Mumbai.
Travel to Sydney AU via layover in Singapore. Land, Eat-Drink & Shoot. Back to the airport.
Travel home through San Francisco then on to NY.
Killer trip, great travel companions , not one argument, and we totally nailed it.
